Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 27, 2026

Welcome to Giga Quizzes (the “Service”, “we”, “us”). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we keep it safe. By using the Service and registering for an account, you agree to the terms set out in this document.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide when registering:

  • Email address (required)
  • Password — stored only in an encrypted (hashed and salted) form. We never store and cannot see your actual password.
  • Name (optional)

Information created while using the Service:

  • Quizzes, questions, settings, and other content you create or upload
  • Images you upload for use in quizzes
  • Creation and update timestamps for your account and your content

Technical information:

During a game, the Service connects the host’s device to each player’s device using WebRTC technology. To establish each connection, a signaling server operated by us relays transient technical data needed to link participants (such as network/ICE addresses).

WebRTC connections are encrypted end-to-end. Questions, answers, nicknames, and scores travel over these encrypted connections, either directly between the devices or, where a restrictive network blocks a direct connection, through a relay server operated by Cloudflare, which forwards the encrypted packets without being able to decrypt them.

To be precise about what we do hold: the quizzes and images you save, your account details, and the report saved for each game you host are stored on our servers, as described above. Apart from that report, the content of a live game is not stored.

2. How We Use Information

  • To create a user account and manage your access to the Service
  • To authenticate your identity when you sign in
  • To save the quizzes and content you create and display them to you
  • To run games and connect participants
  • To improve, secure, and properly operate the Service
  • To contact you regarding your account, when necessary

3. Lawful and Minimal Use

We collect only the information needed to operate the Service. We do not sell your personal information to third parties and do not use it for purposes unrelated to operating the Service.

4. Sharing With Third Parties

We do not share your personal information with third parties, except in the following cases:

  • Infrastructure providers: We rely on cloud infrastructure providers (for example, Cloudflare) to store data and operate the signaling and TURN/STUN servers that enable game connections. These providers process information on our behalf and under an obligation of confidentiality.
  • Analytics and advertising: Google collects usage data through its own cookies when you visit the Service, as described in section 8. We do not give Google your email address, your quizzes or your game reports.
  • Legal requirements: Where required by law, court order, or a competent authority.

5. Data Security

We take reasonable and accepted measures to protect your information, including storing passwords in an encrypted (hashed) form only, using secure connections, and using authentication tokens (JWT). However, we cannot guarantee absolute security, and your use of the Service is at your own risk.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and the personal information associated with it at any time by contacting us at the address in the “Contact Us” section. After deletion, your information will be deleted or anonymized, except for information we are required to retain by law.

7. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the following rights:

  • To access the personal information we hold about you
  • To request correction of inaccurate or outdated information
  • To request deletion of your information
  • To withdraw your consent to the use of your information

To exercise your rights, please contact us using the details in the section below.

8. Cookies, Analytics and Advertising

To manage your sign-in session, the Service may store information locally in your browser (such as an authentication token via localStorage). This information is required for the proper operation of the Service.

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are used. It sets cookies and collects usage data such as the pages viewed, the browser and device type, and an approximate location. You can opt out with Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on.

The Service is paid for by advertising from Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You may opt out of personalised advertising in Google’s Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info. Google explains how it uses information from sites that use its services.

9. Children's Privacy

The minimum age for creating an account depends on the country you live in. You may create an account if you are at least the age of digital consent there (for example 13 in the United States, and between 13 and 16 in the European Union, depending on the country), or if a parent or guardian has agreed to it.

Players do not need an account to join a game. They enter a room code and a nickname, and we do not ask them for an email address, a password or any other contact details. A player’s nickname and answers appear in the report saved to the host’s account. We recommend that younger players use a nickname rather than their full name.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond what is described here. If a parent or guardian believes their child has given us personal information without their consent, they can contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material updates will be posted on the Service, and the “Last updated” date at the top of this document will be revised. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
